News release: NationalDecember 2, 2005 Kaiser Permanente Website KP.org Recognized at Healthcare Internet Conference www.kaiserpermanente.org Wins Two Silver, Two Gold, And a Platinum Award for Excellence [Las Vegas, NV]— Kaiser Permanente’s website, www.kp.org, earned six awards in a nationwide competition among healthcare websites. The awards were presented at the Annual Healthcare Internet Conference in Las Vegas. “This means a great deal to our team,” says Kaiser Permanente’s Vice President of Online Services, Anna-Lisa Silvestre. “To know that we’re helping our members get the information they need in a way that’s convenient for them—and to have that work recognized in a competition with hundreds of other websites—makes the hard work worth it.” Competing with nearly 1200 other healthcare websites, www.kp.org took awards in three categories at the Annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards ceremonies: Best Health/Healthcare Content in three classifications:
Entries are evaluated by an independent panel of individuals familiar with health care and the Internet. Web sites were rated based on a standard of Internet excellence and how they compared with others in their group classification. The annual awards program “recognizes the very best Web sites of healthcare providers, health plans, healthcare associations, online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical equipment firms, suppliers, other healthcare organizations, and business improvement initiatives.
